The Oman national football team defeated its Somali counterpart on penalties today, Wednesday, in the playoff match qualifying for the group stage of the 2025 Arab Cup.
The match between Oman and Somalia was held at Jassim bin Hamad Stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha. The game determined which team would advance to the 2025 Arab Cup. Oman won the penalty shootout 4–1, after the match ended in a goalless draw in regular time.

Oman will play in Group B, which includes Morocco, Saudi Arabia, and the winner of the match between Yemen and Comoros.
Qatar will host the 2025 Arab Cup from December 1 to 18, with the participation of 16 national teams.
The tournament will kick off on Monday, December 1, with a match between Tunisia and Syria.
